Description
Turvey Lodge is a 17th-century house with a 19th-century wing, forming an L-shape. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a banded plain and fishscale clay tile roof. The building has two storeys. The earlier wing has stone gable coping, while the 19th-century wing includes carved bargeboards and a drop finial. On the west elevation of the 17th-century wing, there is a four-light leaded casement window, and the other windows in this wing are 19th-century sashes with glazing bars. The south elevation of the 19th-century block features a two-storey, projecting gabled porch with scalloped bargeboards. The first floor of the porch is pebbledash rendered and has a single light window with glazing bars. The ground floor is open, supported by timber corner posts and adorned with ornate Gothic timber tracery. To the right of the porch, the wing has two sash windows with glazing bars on each floor, and the ground floor windows have yellow brick heads.
