Description

Manor Farmhouse is an early and late 17th-century timber-framed farmhouse situated in Ravensden. The exterior is colour-washed rough cast, with weatherboarding to the south gable end, and the roof is tiled. The house is in a T-plan, comprising a storeyed original wing and a two-storey-and-attic wing to the south. The south elevation of the earlier wing has a two-light horizontal sash window with glazing bars on each floor. The later wing features a sash window with glazing bars to the ground and first floors, along with a casement window to the attic. A red brick double ridge stack is present on the south wing, and an external gable end stack is located to the west of the earlier block. A one-storey brick extension is attached to the north, and a lean-to brick addition is on the west gable end of the original block. Inside, the house retains a 17th-century staircase with original balusters.
