Description
The Manor is a house built around 1815 by John Wing for the Reverend E. Williamson. The roof was reworked in the late 19th century. The front elevation is cement rendered and color-washed, while the building features blocks of coursed limestone rubble. The roofs are slate, with the main block having a mansard roof and sprocketed eaves.
The main block is two stories with attics and has a double-pile plan, along with a two-storey gabled block and a single-storey hipped block to the west. The south elevation of the main block has quoins at the corners, a string course at the first-floor sill level, and a wood modillion eaves cornice. There are sash windows with glazing bars set in reveals and plain raised surrounds, with two on the ground floor and three on the first floor.
A central box dormer features small paired sash windows. The stucco door surround is decorated with vermiculated rustication, impost mouldings, a keyblock, and a modillion cornice. This surround encloses a wooden archivolt and reveals with fielded panelling, a wide door with three fielded panels, and a semi-circular fanlight with decorative glazing bars.
