Description
Barnett Mill is a mill that has been converted into part of a house, dating from 1830, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick on a sandstone plinth and features a machine tile roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic that is illuminated by a 20th-century projecting dormer with a segmental head. The exterior includes a dentilled brick cornice and stone quoins. On the first floor, there are three 2-light casement windows set under segmental heads. The wide central entrance has a wooden architrave and is also topped with a segmental head. To the right of the gable, there is an overshot cast iron wheel, although the paddles are no longer present. Inside, the main gearing of the mill remains, but the grinding stones have been removed.
