Description
Hackman’s Watch is a house dating to the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the early 18th century, the mid-19th century, and the late 20th century. The house is constructed of brick on a sandstone plinth, and incorporates the remains of an earlier timber-frame structure. It is roofed with concrete tiles. The main range of the house runs east to west, with a subsidiary wing extending to the north. The north front features a gabled wing on the left, with a brick cope to the verge and horizontal bands. This wing has two storeys, with a three-light casement window beneath a segmental head on each floor. The main range also has two storeys, with a two-light casement window on each floor, also set beneath segmental heads. The ground floor has two further two-light casement windows. The entrance is located at the rear of the property.
