Description

Nos 4, 5, and 6 on Bridgnorth Road are early to mid-18th century, two-storey red brick houses. No 4 features a slightly later two-bay extension, while No 6 has a lower gabled wing with a mid-19th century extension above the road. Originally constructed as one house, the mid-18th century extension of No 4 led to its subdivision, with the wing becoming a separate unit during the mid-19th century addition. The main block has a brick dentil eaves cornice and a hipped tile roof, while the gabled wing shares similar dentil eaves and tiles. The main block of Nos 4 and 5 has four windows, and the wing has one, all featuring 19th century three-light casements in original openings with flat gauged brick arches. The doorways have been altered with modern glazed porches. There is a tall 19th century brick chimney stack at the junction of the gabled wing and No 5, along with 18th century chimneys on the ridge of the main block and an external chimney on the side of No 4. Inside, No 4 includes a simple dog leg turned baluster staircase and chamfered ceiling beams.
