Description

This is a terrace of three houses located in Severnside, Stourport on Severn, dating from the late 18th century. The houses are built of brick and feature hipped roofs covered in plain tiles. Each house originally had a single-unit plan, although the addition of windows above the doorway of number 5 creates a facade with four bays of unequal size on the upper floors. The front doors are six-panelled, with traceried overlights set within pedimented surrounds supported by console brackets, exhibiting some variation in detailing between the houses. The windows are two-light casements with transoms, having segmentally arched brick heads. There is one inserted window on the ground floor to the left-hand side. A dentilled eaves band runs along the entire length of the building, and there are axial stacks at the rear. The gable end facing the river has inserted windows on both the ground and first floors, replacing earlier Palladian windows. Two hipped roofed wings extend to the rear of the properties.
