Description

CHURCHILL & BLAKEDOWN CP STAKENBRIDGE LANE (north side) SO 87 NE 7/80 Churchill Pound - II Village pound. Probably 1862, restored 1966. Brick with sandstone coping. Square plan. English bond brickwork, entrance has sandstone lintel (con- tinuation of coping) with simple wrought iron gate. Plaque adjacent to entrance gives date of construction and restoration. (Price, S: "The Village Pound, Northfield", Occasional Papers on Northfield, No 10, (1978), p 10).
