Description

Churchill Pound is a village pound located on the north side of Stakenbridge Lane in Churchill and Blakedown. It was probably built in 1862 and restored in 1966. The structure is made of brick with sandstone coping and has a square plan. The brickwork is in English bond, and the entrance features a sandstone lintel, which continues the line of the coping, along with a simple wrought iron gate. A plaque next to the entrance indicates the dates of construction and restoration.
