Description

The Manor House is a manor house dating from the mid-17th century, constructed from blue lias stone with Cotswold stone dressings. Rear wings were likely added in the early 18th century, along with later additions. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has two blue lias stone ridge stacks and two rebuilt side wall stacks on the west side. The house is two storeys and has an attic.

The south front is symmetrical, with projecting gabled wings that flank a central gabled section. Subtle differences in the wings suggest the west wing may be slightly later than the central section and the east wing. Stone mullioned windows are present on both wings; three-light windows illuminate the attic, while four-light windows are on the first floor. Two-light windows are found on the inner returns of the wings, and on the east side of the east wing. Hoodmoulds cover windows on the east wing. The ground floor incorporates glazing bar sash windows. The central section features a chamfer-moulded Tudor arched front door, flanked by three-light windows on each side, all protected by a continuous dripmould that extends across and around the east wing. The east wing has four-light first-floor and three-light attic windows with hoodmoulds. At the rear, there are two three-light first-floor windows and one six-light ground-floor window, both with hoodmoulds.

The east side of the rear wing is plain and gabled; the west side is also gabled but with a hipped north gable, incorporating two dormers on the west side, four casement pairs to the first floor, and two sashes and two triple casements to the ground floor.
