Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early 19th century, with alterations made around 1910 by Ernest Newton. The building features coursed limestone rubble faced with ashlar at the front, and has a two-span slate roof with gable-end parapets, a stone ridge, and ashlar end stacks, one of which has a moulded capping. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. The outer bays have 16-pane sash windows on both floors, while the central first floor has a round-arched window with a dropped keyblock and a 12-pane sash window that includes a traceried head.
The central entrance is adorned with a flat moulded canopy supported by corbels, beneath which is a cast iron porch featuring a shallow swept hipped-roofed canopy and decorative infill panels. The doorway has a moulded architrave and a six-panelled door, which includes four raised and fielded panels and two upper glazed panels. There are attic lights in the gable ends, and the rear range has 20th-century casements. At the time of the 1910 alterations, the farmhouse was known as Greave's Farmhouse.
