Description

Clareland is an early 19th-century house. It is constructed of brick on a sandstone plinth, with painted stone dressings and a hipped roof covered in stone tiles. There are rear chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and includes a moulded stone cornice and parapet. It has three windows: two 16-pane sash windows are flanked by a 12-pane sash window. Each window has a fluted keystone above a monolithic, stepped wedge lintel that simulates voussoirs. A central entrance features a flat canopy supported by Tuscan columns, a moulded cornice, a fanlight, and a six-panelled, two-leaf door with glazing in the upper two panels.
