Description
Grove Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-17th century, with later raising in the late 17th century and alterations in the early 19th and mid-20th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick infill set on a sandstone plinth and has a tiled roof. The building has a T-plan layout and an external gable end stack made of sandstone on the east gable of the front range, which consists of two framed bays.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two 3-light 19th-century casement windows. On the ground floor, there are two glazing bar sash windows, which are early 19th-century but were imported in the mid-20th century. The central entrance includes an early 19th-century doorcase, a 3-pane overlight, and a 6-panelled door. The framing consists of three rectangular panels raised by an additional two square panels, each supported by straight tension braces. The west gable features two collars with queen struts and a V-strut in the apex.
