Description

The Tithe Barn in Bredon is a late 14th-century stone barn featuring an enormous steeply pitched roof covered in stone slates. On the east side, there are two large porches with timber frame gable heads and narrow lights that are splayed internally. The barn is supported by stone buttresses. Above one of the porches is the bailiff's solar room, which is accessed by external stone stairs and features a fine medieval stone chimney with a conical roof. The barn consists of nine bays divided by oak posts on stone plinths, creating aisles and supporting a well-crafted open timber roof. The dimensions of the barn are approximately 130 feet by 40 feet.
