Description
No. 63 High Street is a house that likely dates from the mid-18th century and was altered in the late 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and painted brick, topped with a stone slate roof. The building is one storey high with an attic. The east wall, made of painted brick, features two bays. On the ground floor, there are casement windows with segmental heads, and above, two attic dormers. The left part of the wall is covered by a lean-to extension. The doorway between the bays also has a segmental head. Gable chimneys are present. The north gable wall, which faces the road, is made of stone and includes a single-storey canted bay window on a stone base, a window to the right, and an attic window. The interior was not fully accessible during the survey in November 1986, but the right-hand room contains a chamfered spine beam.
