Description

This pair of gate piers and the wall enclosing the forecourt to the south of Picton House were built around 1700, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The walls are constructed of squared limestone and feature coping. In the mid-20th century, the walls were lowered and now curve downwards on each side of the piers. The gate piers are made of limestone ashlar and are square in shape. Each pier has an entablature topped with a moulded cornice and ball finials.
