Description
The Thatched Tavern is a house that has been converted into a public house. It likely dates from the 16th century and was extended in the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 18th century and mid-20th century. The building features a timber frame with rendered infill and a thatched roof. It consists of two framed bays on the northern side, with a southward extension of two or three bays from the 17th century. The structure is one storey high with gable-lit attics and has an irregular arrangement of four canted bays. The entrance, located to the right, is covered by a glazed canopy. The framing includes exposed cruck trusses on the left-hand gable, and the walls are composed of two and three square panels high.
