Description
Seward House is a house located on High Street in Badsey, dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century, early 19th century, and late 20th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and has a tile roof. The building has an H-plan layout, featuring a lateral stack on the north cross-wing and a stack at the rear of the main range.
The house is two storeys tall, with the left-hand wing having a gable-lit attic. The first floor has a window arrangement of one, three, and two. The leftmost window is a three-light stone mullioned window, while the centre features two two-light windows flanking a three-light window. To the right, there are two glazing bar sashes set in stone architraves with keystones.
On the ground floor, the window arrangement is similar, with one, three, and two windows. There is a four-light stone mullioned window to the left, a two-light window in the centre, and glazing bar sashes with stone architraves and keystones to the right. The entrance, located to the left of centre, features an early 19th-century flat canopy supported by slender cast-iron columns, leading to a six-panel door.
