Description
Abbey Manor House is a large Gothic style house built around 1840, set back from the road within its grounds. The building is constructed of ashlar and has three storeys. It features three 2-light windows with pointed arched heads, 'Y' glazing bars, and horizontal hood moulds. To the right of the centre, there is a tiered, two-storey bay window with a transom and mullions, decorated with carved panels that include escutcheons, and topped with an embattled parapet featuring blind quatrefoil panels. On the left side, there is an elaborate porch that projects outward, complete with angle buttresses, a parapet adorned with pinnacles, a pointed arched doorway, and a heavy carved oak divided door. The house also has a moulded eaves cornice with an embattled parapet and crocketted pinnacles, as well as stone octagonal clustered stacks. Additionally, there are elaborate Gothic style conservatories attached to the south side of the house.
