Description

This building is a barn and outbuildings located approximately 30 yards northwest of Nash's Farmhouse. It dates from the early 19th century, with later additions from the 19th century. The structure is made of red brick and features a tiled roof. The outbuildings have weatherboarding on the front and rubble stone at the rear. The barn has eight bays and is aligned east to west, with a projecting gabled strey approximately in the center of the south side and a similar strey on the north side opposite.

There are brick-dressed full-height arched openings on the long sides of the barn, with the right side of the south strey being blocked. The wide and tall arched entries in all bays to the left of the south strey and in all bays on the north side are blocked with weatherboarding, while the south side is obscured by lean-to weatherboarded additions. The full-height arch in the west end is also blocked with weatherboarding.

Inside, the arches are plainly visible between rectangular projecting brick uprights that support the trusses of a queen-post double purlin roof. A single bay to the east is blocked off and was not accessible at the time of inspection in March 1986. The eight-bay outbuildings project south from the west end of the barn. This building is included for its group value.
