Description

The Rookery is a house dating back to the 17th century, with extensions built in the 18th century, and further alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill on a stone plinth, with coursed lias rubble forming the gable end, including a stack to the south. Part of the south gable is clad in painted brick. The roof is thatched. The house has one storey and an attic, with four 2-light casements set into the thatched roof. The ground floor has three 20th-century windows; the two to the right are bow windows. A thatched canopy shelters the central entrance, which has a 20th-century boarded door. The timber framing consists of three square panels in height. Inside, there is an ingle-nook fireplace with a timber mantel beam.
