Description
The electricity junction box, dating from the early 20th century, was manufactured by Hardy and Padmore of Worcester. It is made of cast iron and has a square shape.
Located at the north-eastern corner of Cripplegate Park, the junction box is positioned between the railings and a brick pillar, forming part of the park's boundary. It features a low pyramidal cap with castellated edges above a moulded cornice. There are two main elevations, each with doors that can be accessed from both Hylton Road and within Cripplegate Park. The doors have moulded surrounds and display a Jacobean-style geometric strapwork relief, along with decorative strap hinges on the right side. The two plain sides have moulded edges and each features a circular relief that reads ‘Hardy and Padmore Limited, Worcester’. The box is painted black.
