Description
This is a house located at 201 Malvern Road, built in the early 19th century with later alterations. It was constructed for Mr. Boughton junior, a nurseryman. The building features pinkish-brown brick with stucco sills and arches, topped by a plain tile roof. There are stacks at the left end and off-centre right, with oversailing courses and pots. The house has two storeys and three first-floor windows. Most windows are 2/2 horned sashes, with the central first-floor window being a 6/6 sash. All windows are set in plain reveals, with sills and flat voussoir arches that include keystones. The central entrance has a flight of roll-edged steps leading to a six-raised-and-fielded-panel door, which is framed by a timber pilastered surround, complete with an overlight and hood. The interior has not been inspected. This house forms a good group with Ivy House at 199 Malvern Road, which was built for Mr. Boughton senior.
