Description

Nos. 3, 5, and 7 Fish Street are three houses that have been converted into a house, a shop, and part of a public house. They date from the late 18th century and have undergone later additions and alterations, including a shop front added in the late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with the front facade painted, and the right gable featuring pinkish-red brick. The roofs are slate on the left and center sections, while the right section has plain tiles.

The buildings rise to three storeys and have a window arrangement of 2:1:1 on the first floor. The row is angled to align with the street. On the first floor, there are two 8-pane casement windows on the left, followed by two 8/8 sash windows, all set in flush frames with cambered arches. The second floor features two 6-pane casement windows on the left and two 4/4 sash windows, also in flush frames. The eaves are decorated with modillions.

On the ground floor, there is a 3-pane shop window with a glazed door to the left, followed by a part-glazed door and a plate-glass window with a cambered arch. To the right, there is an 8/8 sash window with a cambered arch and sill, along with a 6-panel door that has an overlight and an architrave with fluted pilasters. The interiors have not been inspected.

Nos. 3 to 9 (odd) and Nos. 21 and 23 form a group, with No. 7 currently being part of The Farriers Arms, along with Nos. 9 and 11 Fish Street.
