Description
This building, located at 97 High Street, is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from around the 1770s and has undergone various additions and alterations, including a shop front added in the late 20th century. The structure is made of red brick and features a roof that is hidden behind an eaves parapet, with gable parapets at either end. The ridge has end tacks, both displaying an oversailing detail and some chimney pots. The windows have stone sills, and the shop front is made of timber. The building has a symmetrical facade with a rebuilt coped parapet, standing three storeys tall with a basement. There are three first-floor windows, which are 6/6 sashes, and similar windows on the second floor, except for the central window, which is a blind, rendered panel. All windows are set in plain reveals under flat gauged brick arches and have sills. Above the second-floor window heads, there is a full-width, flush rendered band. The interior has not been inspected.
