Description

The building at 63 and 65 Sidbury consists of two houses, later converted into shops and flats. It likely dates to the 17th century, with a facade remodeled in the mid-to-late 18th century, and further alterations made subsequently. A comprehensive programme of repairs was undertaken around 1979. The construction is probably timber-framed, with a brick exterior in a Flemish bond pattern, rendered in pinkish-brown brick, and a plain tile roof. A central stack of pinkish-brown brick is visible.

The building's gable ends face the street, with a central valley running along the party wall. It stands two storeys high plus an attic, with one window on the first floor. The first floor features 1/1 sash windows with horns. The second floor has four-panel sash windows. All windows are set in plain reveals with sills and flat arches constructed of gauged brick. The ground floor now has two renewed shop fronts styled in the Victorian manner, each with a central glazed entrance.

Internally, some original timber framing is exposed on the ground floor, including a chamfered transverse beam.
