Description
No. 32 The Tything is a house, now used as offices, that is part of a terrace built around 1760 to 1780, with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a plain clay tile roof, featuring a moulded cornice. The apex of the right gable is clad in horizontal boarding.
The house has three storeys and an attic. On the first floor, there are three windows with 6/9 sash frames, while the second floor has 6/6 sash windows. All windows are set in near-flush frames with sills and have flat gauged brick arches above them. There are full dormers on both the left and right sides, each with a cambered lead roof and a 6-pane casement window. The entrance features a six-panel door with an overlight, and there is a 20th-century doorcase, along with a shopfront to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
