Description

This house, originally built in 1769, was later divided into two separate dwellings. The building is constructed of brick, some of which is handmade, with a plain tiled roof and end stacks. It is two storeys high with an attic, and features a dentil-detailed eaves cornice. The front has three bays, with windows containing three lights and cambered heads. A central, original gabled dormer has a single-course band at the base of the gable, beneath which is a circular window with radiating glazing bars. Large, gabled dormers were added in the 20th century on either side of the original dormer, each featuring a four-light leaded casement window. A distyle Doric portico provides shelter to the central entrance, which has a 20th-century door, a moulded architrave and a fanlight. A datestone reads "Built by/ Thos/ Walker/ 1769," interrupting the single-course band on the central dormer. The interior has not been inspected. Later additions have been made to the rear of the property, dating to the 19th and 20th centuries.
