Description
Copyhold is a cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century and was attractively remodeled in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with red brick panels arranged in a herringbone pattern and has a plain tile roof. The building is designed in a T shape and has one and a half storeys. At the south end, there is a crosswing with a paired brick ridge stack, where the shafts are joined, and a similar stack at the north end. The crosswing has close-studded timber framing, a jettied upper floor, ornamental bargeboards, and two casement windows above, along with a pair of casement windows below. There are two dormers on the south side. The main range has gable bargeboards, two dormers on the east front, and the upper floor extends over a charming open verandah supported by paired wooden piers. The ground floor features a door and a three-light casement window.
