Description
Buckbury House is a 16th-century house that features a timber-framed structure with painted brick and a plain tile roof. The building has a T-shaped plan with two ridge stacks on the main range and a crosswing at the south end. It stands two storeys tall, with the crosswing displaying close-studding on the ground floor and large tension braces. There are three-light casements on both floors, while the main range has two-light and three-light casements above. The ground floor includes a door and a modern lean-to addition with two windows. Inside, the house features hollow moulded and stopped main beams. Buckbury House serves as the manor house of the manor of Buckberry, as noted in the Victoria County History.
