Description
The Old School House is a 17th-century house that was converted into a village school in the mid-19th century and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with a plain tile roof, an outside stack at the east end, and a later stack at the west end. The building is one storey with an attic, including a hipped dormer and a four-light mullion and transom schoolroom window at the front, which has iron lattice glazing typical of Pull Court estate buildings. To the left, there is a 20th-century half-timbered porch with an adjoining two-light window. The house has been extended to the left and rear, with parts dating from both the 19th and 20th centuries, mostly in a half-timbered style. Inside, the floor of the original range has been removed to create a single schoolroom.
