Description

The Holy Well is an ancient well that was granted to John Hornyold in Tudor times. The well-house was built in 1843 and features stucco walls, a pantiled roof, and a wooden lantern. It stands two storeys tall and has four windows with round-headed openings, brick arches, and gable heads above. On the ground floor, there are two reproduction Norman arches; the left-hand arch leads into a square chamber that contains the well, which features an arched basin on a pedestal. The structure has been recently restored from a state of ruin.
