Description

Church Hill Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse, extended in the late 17th century, with some late 20th-century alterations. It is timber-framed with brick infill and a tile roof. The farmhouse has a T-plan, with a cross-wing at the west end built in the late 17th century, oriented north/south, and a separate, earlier 17th-century range. The two-storey cross-wing has a gable-lit attic and two windows with two lights, while the ground floor has a three-light casement under a pentice roof. The main range is single-storey with an attic lit by two gabled dormers. On the ground floor is a glass-fronted conservatory, and to the right-hand end, a catslide roof covers a 19th-century addition with a three-light casement window. The interior of the main range features a roof with two vertical and two raking struts to the collar, and the cross-wing has a king-post roof with walls structured in four square panels.
