Description

Bromsgrove School is a building of circa 1695, originally listed as King Edward VI School. It is a three-storey structure with an attic, and has a four-window front. The elevation facing the road features a prominent central entrance constructed of painted stonework. This entrance is topped by a curved pediment with a pulvinated frieze, carved console brackets, and a moulded architrave. The entrance has double doors consisting of four fielded-panel oak. The walls are largely obscured by ivy, but appear to be mainly of late 17th century brickwork with a moulded stone base and stone quoins. The windows are varied; only one original sash window remains, with the others appearing to be later insertions. A 19th century brick corbel is visible at the eaves. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and features dormers.
