Description
The Golden Lion Public House is an 18th-century building located on Worcester Road. It is a three-storey structure with a symmetrical brick facade featuring painted stone dressings. The entrance boasts a well-crafted pedimented doorcase with attached Doric columns and an entablature, complemented by a semi-circular fanlight and a six-panel door. The windows are sash types in cased frames, with the second-floor windows set in plain reveals. The central window on the first floor has a curved moulded head with fluted keyblocks, while the other windows are three-light "Venetian type" sashes, with the central light having a gothic design and an ogee head. The building is topped with a coved cornice at the eaves and an old tile roof. The Golden Lion Public House is part of a group that includes Nos 3 to 7 (odd).
