Description
This barn, located about 20 metres north-west of Tutnall House, dates from the 17th century and has undergone some alterations in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It features a timber frame set on a sandstone plinth and is weatherboarded with a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of four framed bays arranged in a north-east to south-west orientation, with a threshing floor situated to the south of the centre. The southern bay has a hipped roof. The wall framing includes two rectangular panels with straight angle braces, and the lower panels are grooved for planks, which remain in some areas. The roof structure has intermediate trusses with two raking struts, while the gable ends feature two struts to the collar and a king-post above.
