Description

These shops, numbered 10, 11, and 12, are probably from the late 18th century. They are built of brick in a distinctive Flemish bond pattern, with tile roofs. The building is three storeys high and originally had three bays. The ground floor now has 20th-century shop fronts. The windows have brick arches above them, and a decorative stone band runs along the first floor. One window frame has been removed on the third bay. The remaining windows are largely 20th-century casements, some with glazing bars. Behind a projecting cornice and a simple blocking course are three separate pitched roofs, one for each bay, with a hipped roof at the front. There are chimneys in the valleys between the roofs. The return wall on the left, facing Goodall Street, has three bays; the middle bay on the first floor is blank, and the outer bays on the ground floor do not have windows. To the right is a section of a shop front that continues from the front facade. A sash window with glazing bars is visible on the ground floor, and another sash window with glazing bars is on the middle second-floor window.
