Description
The Church of St Lawrence is a parish church with origins dating back to the 12th century, which underwent alterations and expansions during the 13th to 15th centuries. The church features a nave, aisles, a chancel, and a west tower. A modern south porch and a southeast vestry have been added, and the original spire of the embattled tower has been replaced with a modern hipped tiled roof. The church was restored in the early to mid-19th century. Notable monuments within the church include two with effigies from around 1400 and 1450, as well as two in the chancel dated 1833 and 1837. The Church of St Lawrence is part of a group that includes Church Farmhouse, Moat House, The Glebe House, and The Vicarage.
