Description

Forest Hall is a building designed by Joseph Bonomi and constructed in 1788 for the Woodmen of Arden archery club, which was founded in 1785. It features a stone hipped roof with Welsh slates and wide bracketed eaves. The building is a single storey with a central canted bay and three tall round-arched French windows on either side, complete with shutters. Inside, there are two large rooms: one original and one added as a ballroom in 1845. These rooms contain 18th-century busts, including a notable one of Wriothesley Digby by Nollekins, and feature ornamental plaster ceilings. Forest Hall, along with the Pavilion and Workshop, forms a cohesive group.
