Description

The Village Cross is a medieval structure located on The Green in Meriden. It features a stepped octagonal plinth with three worn stone steps that support a square base stone, which is broached to an octagonal top. Above this is a tapering octagonal shaft. The cross is popularly believed to mark the center of England.
