Description

Heywood House is a late 18th century former small mansion, built by an early member of the family firm of Walter Somers Ltd, which is located nearby and serves as a hostel and club. The house is constructed of painted brick and has three storeys. It features three renewed sash windows and a modern wood doorcase that is generally in keeping with the style, complete with pilasters, sidelights, a coved copper canopy on brackets, and a glazed door. The eaves are plain, and there is a modern dormer and tiles. The interior has been significantly altered.
