Description
No. 11 St Paul's Square is a three-storey town house built around 1780, located on the east side of the square and part of a row that includes Nos 12 to 14. It occupies a corner site with Mary Ann Street. The building features five bays and has red brick construction. The windows and doorways on both fronts were given rendered scroll footed architraves and classical dressings, which were added around 1880 to 1890. There are plinth and sill courses, and the parapet has been rebuilt. The outer ground floor windows are topped with pediments, while the inner windows, which flank the doorways, have cornices that connect to a segmental broken pediment above the door. This area also features a festooned frieze and fluted pilasters on pedestals. The first floor windows have uniform louvres, and the second floor windows have louvres on plain friezes. The building has a three-bay return front with similar architectural details, making it an important feature on this corner site.
