Description
Sheepcote Street Bridge is a road bridge, dating from circa 1827. Constructed in brick, it features twin segmental arches, angled or skewed, with towpaths on both sides. A brick parapet runs along the bridge, with a pair of fire doors inserted into each side, allowing firefighters access to pump water from the canal. The bridge is part of the improvements made to the Birmingham Main Line by Thomas Telford.
