Description
Moseley Hall Hospital was built around 1795 after an earlier hall was destroyed by rioters in 1791. It was the home of Richard Cadbury, who donated it as a children's home in 1890. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with a slate roof and features three storeys and five bays. The ground floor is rusticated and includes a central porch supported by four pairs of Tuscan columns, an entablature, and four tripartite windows with Ionic columns in segment-headed recesses, flanked by pairs of pilasters. The first floor windows are similar but are set in round-arched recesses. At the rear, there is a central bow. To the right, there is a two-storey office wing that is six bays wide, with the outer two bays recessed and featuring plain casement windows, a cornice, and a modern attic storey. Attached to this is another block made of ashlar with a slate roof, which is one and a half storeys tall and has seven bays, with the outer four bays advanced. The ground floor has casement windows, while the upper storey features square sash windows, a cornice, and a blocking course. Further to the right is a late 18th-century stable block made of red brick with a parapet.
