Description
No. 78 Oldknow Road is a building constructed between 1903 and 1905 by Buckland. It is made of variegated brick and stands two storeys tall, although it is lower than the nearby school. The building features three bays, with the center bay slightly projecting forward. The entrance door is located beneath a modest tiled sloping hood supported by brackets. On the ground floor, there is a tiled canted bay window on the left side. The first floor has sash windows with segmental heads, with the center window being wider than the others. The windows are set back from the wall face, and in the outer bays, the wall is carried down between the windows on the first floor and stops on corbels. There is a dentilled course at the stone coping.
