Description
Nos 47 to 53 on George Street West, built between 1830 and 1840, form a stuccoed terrace of two storeys. The building features a plinth and the first floor has channelled rustication that extends up to the sill band. It has shallow moulded flat eaves and a low slate roof, with band corniced brick chimneys. The houses are arranged with two three-bay fronts and paired central entrances. The windows are revealed sashes, mostly with glazing bars. The doorways have revealed simplified plaster frames, with channelling designed to resemble voussoirs to arches, and an archivolt above a radial glazed fanlight.
