Description
The remains of the Priory Church, located approximately 10 meters east of Pinley Abbey, are now used as a workshop and stables. This structure likely dates from the 14th century, with later rebuilding and alterations. It is built from coursed squared stone, with some 19th-century brickwork, and features an old plain-tile roof. The building is a single-storey, four-bay range, with one bay forming a cross-wing and has irregular fenestration. There are stable doors at both the north and south ends. Inside, there is a Tudor-arched blocked doorway on the ground floor. Historically, the Cistercian Priory of Pinley was founded by Henry I and dissolved by Henry VIII.
