Description

No. 24 Coten End is a house dating probably from the early 18th century, situated on the south side of the road. The street-facing elevation is of early 18th-century brickwork, arranged as two bays wide and two storeys high. Four gables are present, with plain brick copings along the ridge. Horizontal string courses are visible at ceiling levels. The original wood-framed windows have transoms and mullions, with casements to the right of the entrance; the remaining windows are likely later replacements. Stone keyblocks are set within the window openings. A modern door has been installed. The right-hand side of the building appears to have been rebuilt in the early 19th century to match the original detail, and incorporates a splayed bay window on the ground floor. The roof is covered in old tiles.
