Description

The entrance gateway to St John's House, built in 1781, features panelled stone piers topped with a cornice and finials. It includes impressive ornamental wrought iron gates and railings, which date from the late 17th century and are attributed to Nicholas Paris. The structure is flanked by ashlar walls on either side. The entrance gateway, St John's House, and the boundary walls together form a cohesive group.
