Description

Parkhouse Farmhouse is a mid-18th century building constructed of ashlar stone. It features a steeply pitched plain tile roof with stone-coped gabled ends and a moulded eaves cornice, sitting on a stone plinth. The farmhouse has two storeys and two bays. On the west elevation, there are two pairs of sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded frames on both the ground and first floors. A Victorian gabled wooden porch is located on the north elevation, and there is a central brick ridge chimney stack. Attached at right angles to the rear (east) is an earlier 18th-century brick wing, which has one storey and an attic, also topped with a steeply pitched plain tile roof. The south elevation is made of sandstone ashlar.
