Description
No 38 on High Street is an early 19th-century building with three stories and a four-window stucco facade. It features sash windows with narrow cased frames and plain reveals, along with glazing bars. The building has plain pilasters at the corners on both the left and right sides. The entrance porch, located slightly to the left, is supported by heavy Doric piers and has an entablature above. It contains a four-panel entrance door and an attractive fanlight set in a semi-circular headed reveal. The structure has a plinth that is flush with the pilasters, and the lower moulding of the cornice projects forward over the pilasters. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has a low pitch. This building shares a similar design with No 36. Nos 30 to 52 (even) form a group.
